En los pacientes con una forma agresiva de artritis reumatoide, no se ha demostrado que un inicio inmediato con un tratamiento con metotrexate y tocilizumab aporte ventajas frente a la combinación de metotrexate con un anti-TNF alfa (mejor evaluado).
